TB: Queen Esther Crown

Hooooo dear. I am so far behind with submitting photographs of my costumes. The amount of cosplays I have that need photos taken has reached the double-digits, this costume is included! ARGH! Soon, Esther, soon...

I managed to take a few (very poor-quality) photographs for the crown to submit on DA, since I haven't submitted anything on here in a while.

This crown's base is made of PVC plastic, cut and heat-bended into shape. Plastic ornaments, sheeting and foam were used to create the textures and add-ons, and the inside of it is royal velvet in a beautiful blood-red (which the photos give absolutely no justice to). The fur was hand-sew with contrasting black to create the ermine effect (which, now that I look at these photos, you can't really see...) and it was decorated with pearls, a metal ornament, resin jewels and hand-applied rhinestones, some of which were painted to match the crown. The base was also painted with metallic-silver pray-paint.

The base had combs which I hand-sewed inside it to allow it to clasp tightly onto the netting of my wig and not slip off. In the end, it came out really nice, but also a bit heavy - big shout-out also to for helping me with my wig and for making the crown nigh-impossible to slip off. I could thank Tex more, but all the stuff that she did would take page after page after page. <3
