Description
I absolutely adored the movie 'My Neighbour Totoro'. It was a gorgeous, whimsical film that reminded me why children are born with such wondeful imaginations. Because otherwise, magic wouldn't exist. <3
A little bit of story with this painting. I used to do a lot of painting back in highschool, but once i finished my senior year, I hadn't taken a brush up since (seriously painted, not just small detailing on artwork). One day, I was insipred to do a Totoro artwork, but my Adobe Photoshop kept shutting down on me due to a program error. This is what ensued.
Me: You can't keep shutting down on me, Photoshop.
AP: Oh, yes I can. *shuts down some more in defiance*
Me: *evil calm face* If you shut down on me one more time, I'm gonna go Traditional Mediums on your ass.
AP: You woldn't dare.
Me: *stoic silence*
AP: *mirroring silence*
Me: Go on, I DARE you to shut down again. I dare you, I DOUBLE dare you, motherf***er.
AP: .......
Me: .......
AP: ....... *shuts down*
Me: That's it. *shoots her computer dead, takes up brush and acrylics*
Er.... yes. That's more or less what happened. However, I didn't have any clean canvases to work on, so I had to make-do with a piece of cardbard I cut from the TV's old package-box. Which is why you can see lines imprinted on the entire painting. ARGH. =____=;;;
Thruth be told, it felt quite good to be painting again. Though I never think I'll be apainted, at least once in a while I can dabble in the different arts, huh? XD
Done entirely on canvas with acrylics and a couple of oil-based colours (esp. white), used Photoshop to resize. NONE OF THIS IS TOUCHED-UP, mkay?
Please full view and put me out of my misery. Ta.
