This is the famous costume I wore at Wai-Con 2008 that got me disqualified, even though I'd won best craftmanship.
The reason?
I said the word ' prostitute ' on stage when referring to my profession. I didn't know Jack the Ripper's vocabulary had to be kept G-rated! xD
Yeah, my Wai-Con 2008 costume, which (almost) won me best craftmanship. I was really proud of this, and still am, but I have to take many more photographs of it to show off the true detail of it.
The costume is made up of multiple layers, which include the shite shirt, collar ruffle and brooch and over-jacket, complete with a pleat-cut at the back. The skirt is in three parts, with a simple underskirt, a draped front-apron with edged folds, and a back-skirt with full bustle. It's really quite lovely, and drapes ever so elegantly!
Best part of the costume? I GOT TO WEAR A BUTT-PILLOW. Oh, you can imagine the gropings I got. xD
The lovely made my hat for me, which is awesome, even if it doesn't fit on my poor little head. It comes complete with ostrich feather action and shiney black rose of awesome. She also styled my wig, which came out lovely. <333
I felt ever so snooty in that costume, ohohohohoho~ It was also great that my bright, blood-red lipstick was called (completely coincidentally) 'Devil In Disguise'. Oh my, hohohoho~ xD
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

I'll humor you because you're cute, not because I'm terribly afraid of your wrath.
Such pretty eyes, too! You look absolutely amazing!
Sucks about the vocabulary thing, you think they'd issue a warning or something... eek.

Yeah, apparently they changed the whole con to be a G-rated event, even though it had been MA15+ every year before that. >_<
